Tip of the Week- Earrings

We all know its close it impossible to find all pairs of ‘matching’ earrings when you are looking for them!   By wearing two different types of earrings, or mismatching your earrings, you are able to create your own edgy and unique look! * This is also another trend inspired by the 80’s!

Fishtail Braids

Tired of regular ‘ol braids? Fishtail braids is the new hairstyle trend for this upcoming Fall and Winter 2011, that are all the rage! It gives off a more polished and put together look that is fun and easy to do! Here’s how you do it: First, start off with a ponytail in the middle of the back of your head Separate the ponytail into two separate parts Hold the two strands in your left hand Take a thin piece from the outside of the right strand and join it with the left strand Put your hair into your right hand now and with your left hand take a thin piece from the outside of the strand and join it with the right strand (the same thing you did before, but now with the opposite side) Keep repeating until you get your desired look Finish off with a rubber band and/or hair tie

Crosses- The New IT Trend

80’s inspired crosses (think Madonna, Cyndi Lauper) are making their way into this upcoming fall! From cross jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets) to cross clothing, crosses are the new IT trend! You can catch current trend setters (Taylor Momsen, the Kardashian sisters, Vanessa Hudgens, Kat Von D… etc) sporting the reinvented look now!

Fall 2011 Makeup

Although Spring and Summer 2011 makeup has been very minimal and very neutral and natural, this Fall is all about the bold and the beautiful. Adding on a pop of color to the eye for day time is ideal! The night time look brings back the cat eye as well as the smoky eye. Big bold lashes top off the eye makeup from day to night! Flawless skin with a light rose or pink blushed over the cheek is a perfect addition to night and day makeup! Bright lips are a must for fall! By adding color such as red, fuchsia or dark purple puts together the perfect fall makeup! This fall is about breaking the rules a bit, so with bold eye makeup, rosy cheeks and bright lips everyone is bound to fall head over heels for fall makeup! Tip of the Week – Hair

Ladies and gentlemen! In a rush or can’t get past the bad hair days? Well here are a few quick simple tips, tricks and styles you can utilize to help out in the hair department. Ladies: ponytails and buns are always safe bets! If your bangs are not cooperating try a poof or even a twist/braid in the front to keep the bangs down! Men: Bed head? No problem! Just run a little mouse, gel or hair wax through damp hair and off you go! The messy look is totally in! Unisex: If you are able to wear a hat, fedora, beanie, or beret wherever you are going, that is also a great way to cover up a bad hair day and is something easy and fast to slip on! It is as simple as that!

LC Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad, break out role on The Hills (first seen on Laguna Beach), has been designing for quite some time now. For those of you who followed her back when she was starting out this has been a long lived passion of hers. As of now she has multiple books written, one which is my personal fave- Style, has had multiple of her own collections put out and has even become a style icon! She is currently coming up with her new line and project, LC Lauren Conrad just for Kohl’s! With even more affordable styles (ranging from $64-$68 dresses, $54-$64 shoes, $36 tops, $50 skirts… etc) she is able to branch out even further now, without breaking the bank! She mixes classic looks with long lived trends, such as, color blocking, lace, pleated skirts and shorts… etc. To check out her new line, shop at Kohl’s, which should be hitting the stores by September, and/or shop online at www.Kohls.com to check out her new looks!

Black and White

Although black and white is always super chic, classy, and the most worn color combo ever, black and white are totally IN this upcoming fall season, with and edgier twist! Black and white is going to be seen in stripes, prints, patterns, and even color blocking! Color blocking is swinging its way from summer to fall, and this trend is here to stay!

Tip of the Week

Getting pulls in knit clothing is unavoidable. Your first initial reaction would be to cut it off right? WRONG! By cutting off a loose strand on knit or woven attire you will slowly but surely unravel the whole thing until you have nothing left! By simply taking a pin, wrapping the loose strand of thread/threads around it and pulling it through the open space, you are saving your outfit from turning into a ball of yarn!

Distressed Denim

Distressed denim is making its way from Summer to Fall! Seen in both men and women’s fashion, distressed denim is here to stay! Going from Summer looks: cropped distressed, skinny leg distressed and cuffed/rolled up boyfriend distressed denim, to Fall looks: flare leg distressed denim and straight leg distressed denim! How to create your own distressed denim: What you’ll need : Old denim, gloves, bleach, water, spray bottle, razor blade, wood/cardboard piece (that will fit inside of the pant leg) First make sure to get a piece of thick wood or cardboard that will fit in the pant leg Insert the piece in the pant leg and carefully run a razor blade across the denim a couple of times until there are tears and rips in the legs Repeat as many times in multiple areas to get the desired look After the rips and tears are completed put on the gloves for the bleaching process ·          The best place to bleach would be in the bathtub/shower or sink Carefully mix, in the spray bottle,   ¾ blea

Booty Tricks

Here are a couple quick easy booty tricks that can help umph up a women’s appearance in the derriere area! For women with a small booty: How to give curves to a smaller bum. Try jeans and/or pants with flap pockets, small back pockets and pockets with stitching and designs/details on the back pockets. This gives the allusion of a fuller bum and more ‘junk in the trunk’ by drawing attention to it without over doing it. For women with a bigger bum: How to conceal a bigger bum. Try jeans/pants with bigger/oversized pockets to give the allusion of a smaller rear. Flare jeans and/or pants also help balance you out on the bottom.

Season of Sequins

This Fall 2011 is all about sequins! Although Winter 2010 was all about sequins, the difference between this Fall and last Winter is COLOR! Sequins this Fall are all about color! No more plain black sequins this year! Christian Louboutin Fall 2011 Dolce and Gabbana sequin jacket Sherri Hill dress

Slenderizing Secrets

Here are a few quick fashion DO’s and DON’Ts that will help you to create a slimming effect. V striped blouses, dresses and even bathing suits are a definite yes! The stripes create a slimming V shape and bring the eyes to focus on the middle while creating an illusion of an hourglass shape. Dark denim and/or straight leg pants makes your legs look thinner and longer! Rouching on the side seams or the middle of blouses and/or dresses allows the gathered fabric to cover up difficult areas. Fashion DON’T: never EVER where a top or dress that adds loose extra fabric to the sides or middle areas. This creates the allusion of extra “baggage”. Also anything that is square cut without shape creates a boxy look.
