This summer is all about body, waves and braids! Summer is the best time to try something spontaneous, funky and fun! Although the pixie crop is always a cute do for summer, why not try and let those locks loose with fun b ody and waves. Simply by adding in ‘peekaboo braids’ or mini twists to the frame the face will take your do to the next level! Going a lighter shade during the summer months is always IN, but why not try something new? Ombre highlights (bohemian surfer trend which shows your natural roots with lighter ends) is all the rage right now!

Although summer may be bright and bold, shades of grey are peaking its way thru. Ranging from light grey to heather grey to charcoal grey, GREY is the neutral IT color for summer. From shimmer to sparkle to metallic to neutral hints of grayish tones, grey is making its way into the warm summer months!

Need a great way to stay cool during the hot summer months? Stick with lightweight all natural fibers such as cotton. Linen (100% cotton; thinnest and most lightweight type of cotton) is one of the best summer fibers to stay cool in. Although linen wrinkles very easily, it is very lightweight, breathable, casual, and travels well.

Stay on top of the trends even in the water! This season’s must haves for bathing suits are- Women: Tiny, itsy bitsy bikins in bright colors, prints and patterns and/or embellished with sequins, studs, beads, and chains. Taylor Momsen, lead singer of The Pretty Reckless, and only 17 years old, has created quite a name for herself! With her edgy rock tunes and strong outspoken voice, she has songs that make you want to cringe with pure excitement. She is also the face for Madonna’s line, Material Girl, found exclusively at Macy’s. Material Girl showcases her spunky attitude with an I DON’T CARE persona. She is the perfect face for the fairly new line; she’s sarcastic, artistic, fun, and edgy, which showcases her style to a T: retro-glam mixed with gothic punk rock.

Not bold enough to wear this seasons bold colors? Try adding in a colorful accessory to amp up your drab look. Add in a bright statement necklace or a funky lightweight scarf (ideal for the warmer months). Or you can try a bold shoe or belt to your usual black and white look. You can even do a fun print handbag or really cute hair accessories to take you to the next level. Stick with this seasons beautiful colors: shades of pinks, blues, greens, and oranges. Make your everyday look a little more vivacious with a simple accessory!

Women- When wearing white or light neutral colors this season keep in mind of your undergarments! Try and match your bra and panties with your top/pants. White tops wear a white or beige bra. Black pants wear dark or black panties, but don’t go outlandish! Don’t mix funky pink and yellow polka dotted undergarments with white clothes! Now that’s just tacky!
