What Is Manifesting?

As a Reiki energy healer, I view manifesting not as “wishful thinking,” but as a conscious energetic practice. Manifesting is the process of aligning your thoughts, emotions/feelings, beliefs, and energy with what you desire, so it can meet you in the physical world. Everything is energy, including your intentions, and when your inner world is clear and aligned, your outer world naturally begins to respond.

At its core, manifesting starts with awareness. Your thoughts carry frequency, your emotions give them power, and your beliefs act as the blueprint. When there are energetic blocks, such as fear, self-doubt, unresolved trauma, or a lack of self-worth, they can quietly interfere with what you’re trying to call in. This is why so many people feel like they’re “doing all the right things” but still feel stuck. The energy beneath the intention matters just as much as the intention itself.

From an energetic perspective, manifesting is about becoming a match for what you desire. If you want more abundance, love, peace, or fulfillment, your energy needs to feel safe holding those experiences. Reiki helps gently clear stagnant or heavy energy from the body and chakras, allowing you to release old patterns and create space for something new. When your energy is balanced, manifestation feels less like forcing and more like allowing.

Self-love plays a huge role in this process too. When you truly believe you are worthy, worthy of joy, success, love, and ease, you stop manifesting from lack and start manifesting from wholeness. Instead of asking, “Why don’t I have this yet?” the energy shifts to “I trust that what’s meant for me is already finding its way.” That shift alone can change everything.

Manifesting is also about surrender. While intention is powerful, being overly attached can block the flow. When you release the need to control the outcome and trust divine timing, you invite alignment. 

Manifesting isn’t about becoming someone new or being positive and happy 24/7. It’s about remembering who you are beneath the conditioning, the fear, and the energetic blocks. When you clear your energy, align with self-love, and trust the process, you naturally begin to attract experiences that reflect your highest good. Your energy speaks before you ever say a word and when it’s aligned, the universe listens. 


Tips on how to manifest

Get clear on what you want (and why)

Clarity is powerful. Instead of focusing only on what you want, connect to how you want to feel. Peace? Freedom? Security? Joy? The feeling is the energetic signal you’re sending.

Check your beliefs around worthiness

Manifestation flows when you believe you’re worthy of receiving. Gently notice any thoughts like “this is too good for me” or “I’ll never get that.” Those are energetic blocks asking to be healed, not judged.


Align your energy before taking action

Before visualizing or setting intentions, ground yourself. Deep breaths, a hand on your heart, or a Reiki session helps your nervous system relax so you’re manifesting from alignment, not urgency or lack.


Feel it as if it’s already yours

Emotion amplifies manifestation. Spend time feeling gratitude, relief, or excitement now, rather than waiting for the outcome. Your energy doesn’t know time, only frequency.


Release attachment to the outcome

Set the intention, then loosen your grip. When you obsess or constantly check “is it working?” you shift into resistance and fear. Trust that what’s meant for you is unfolding in divine timing.


Take inspired action

Manifesting isn’t passive. Notice nudges, ideas, or opportunities that feel light and aligned. Action taken from intuition, not pressure, keeps your energy in flow.


Clear energetic blocks regularly

Old emotions, stress, and unhealed experiences can slow manifestation. Reiki, journaling, grounding, and chakra work help clear stagnant energy so what you’re calling in has space to arrive.


Speak to yourself with love

Your inner dialogue matters. The way you talk to yourself is constantly manifesting your reality. Choose thoughts that support safety, trust, and self-love.



Remember: Manifesting isn’t about forcing or proving, it’s about alignment, self-worth, and allowing. When your energy is clear and grounded in self-love, what’s meant for you naturally finds its way to you.
