Health and Diet Tips for 2013

Protein is the best way to keep lean. By eating a protein packed breakfast, such as eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt and granola, etc… as well as protein packed snacks, it will help keep you fuller longer and with more energy!

By taking a minimum of 10,000 steps per day (which averages out to about 4 to 5 miles) it will help burn up stored fat and burn more calories! *Pedometers can help you stay on track with each step!

Liquid calories are a silent pound packer. Get rid of soda and sugary drinks.

By drinking up to two glasses of water before you eat will help you fill up faster so you won’t eat as much!

Sleep is essential for a healthy and functioning immune system. Lack of sleep can cause you to overeat and gain more weight, due to the decreasing of the hunger hormone that allows you to feel full.

By drinking plain green tea (no sugar) it gives the body a metabolism boost as well as an increase of energy!

Eating soup is the best low fat meal that helps you intake the fewest calories. Warning: some soups pack on the sodium and salt which can cause the body to retain more fluids giving you the bloated effect. Search for something with low sodium!

The number one tip for any age is to just stay active! With a healthy mix of aerobic training (strengthens cardiovascular system) such as running, jogging, walking, swimming, dancing… etc and resistance training (strengthens muscle and bones) such as lifting weights, pushing and pulling, your body will be happy and healthy!

Tap Into Cancer Energy

What is Cancer Season? As the Sun moves into the water sign of Cancer, we’re invited to slow down, soften, and return to the sanctuary of our hearts. Cancer season (June 21 – July 22) marks the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere—a time of warmth, nourishment, and emotional renewal. Governed by the Moon, Cancer energy brings us home to ourselves, urging us to tend to our emotional bodies, deepen our intuition, and create safe, sacred spaces—both within and around us. As a Reiki energy healer, I see Cancer season as a powerful opportunity to reconnect with self-love, compassion and activate the healing energy of the heart. If you’ve been feeling overextended or disconnected, this season is your invitation to come back to center and hold yourself with the tenderness you so often offer others. Tap Into Cancer Energy Nurture Your Inner Child Cancer rules over childhood and our early emotional patterns. Place your hands on your heart and send  loving words to the version of y...

Managing Stress through the Holidays

The holiday season is a time of joy, connection, and celebration, but it can also bring stress, overwhelm, and exhaustion. As a Reiki Energy Healer, I know how crucial it is to stay energetically balanced, especially during this busy time of year.  Here are a few tips to help you navigate the holidays with ease and grace: . Meditation + Awareness : Spend a few minutes each morning or evening doing a body scan. Where are you holding tension? Where can you release? How are you feeling? How can you honor that feeling? After acknowledging where you are right now, allow yourself to sit in stillness for a few moments. This simple act can help release tension, calm your nervous system, and align your energy. Set Energetic Boundaries : Holidays often bring crowded spaces and social obligations. Visualize a protective bubble of light around you to maintain your energetic peace, allowing you to engage with others without absorbing stress or negativity. Pause and Breathe : Whenever t...
