Why should you cleanse your energy?

 


Cleansing your energy is important for maintaining emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Just as we accumulate physical dirt throughout the day, we can also absorb emotional residue, negative thoughts, and energetic blockages from people, places, or situations. If left unchecked, this can lead to fatigue, stress, anxiety, irritability, or a feeling of being stuck. Cleansing allows you to release stagnant energy, restore balance, and reconnect with your authentic self. As a Reiki Energy Healer, I make sure to not only cleanse my energy, but my clients energy too!

Different Ways to Cleanse Your Energy:

Meditation and Breathwork
Focused breathing (Ex: deep breathing: in through the nose, out through the mouth) helps release tension and stagnation.
Guided meditations for grounding or chakra clearing can purify and realign your energy.

Smudging with Herbs
Burning sage, palo santo, or incense releases negative energy. You can also use spray if you are not a fan of smoke,
As the smoke rises, visualize heavy or stagnant energy being lifted away.
(Tip: Set an intention, like "I release what no longer serves me.")

Salt Baths
Soaking in Epsom, Sea Salt or Himalayan salt baths draws out negative energy from your body.
Adding essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus amplifies the cleansing effect.

Crystals for Energy Cleansing
Black tourmaline, selenite, and clear quartz help absorb and transmute negative energy.
Place these stones near your body or home to maintain a clear energy field.

Sound Healing
Singing bowls, tuning forks, or chanting cleanse the energy through sound vibrations.
Listening to specific frequencies (like 528 Hz) can also restore harmony.

Grounding Practices
Walking barefoot on grass, sand, or soil connects you to the earth’s energy and dispels negativity.
Visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth, releasing unwanted energy.

Water Rituals
Shower with intention, visualizing the water clearing any negative or stagnant  energy.
Drinking water mindfully can also cleanse from within—imagine it flushing out negativity.

Visualization Techniques
Imagine yourself standing under a waterfall of golden or white light that washes away heavy energy.
Visualizing a protective bubble of light can also shield you from absorbing new negativity.

Journaling
Journaling and Writing out thoughts and emotions helps release energetic burdens from the mind.
Burn or safely discard the paper after writing to symbolize letting go.

Reiki and Energy Healing
Reiki and Chakra balancing can dissolve energetic blockages and restore your natural energetic flow.

Movement and Dance
Moving your body releases trapped energy; dance, yoga, or shaking can help.
Practices like Qi Gong or Tai Chi focus on energy flow through intentional movement.

Mantras and Affirmations
Speaking positive affirmations like "I am cleansed and renewed" raises your vibration.
Using mantras such as "Om" or "Sat Nam" aligns your energy with higher frequencies.

When to Cleanse Your Energy:
After intense emotional interactions or stressful situations
When you feel drained after being around certain people or environments
During the new or full moon for intention-setting and release
As a regular practice to maintain a sense of peace and alignment
