Amethyst is the birthstone for fabulous February! Amethyst is known as one of the most common healing stones and has been known to bring calmness and balance to ones life. The colors of amethyst range from deep purple to a light lavender, but it is most commonly portrayed as mid/dark purple for February's birthstone. Some other great qualities amethyst have is it helps bring peace, courage and inner strength. It has also been said to help with symptoms from insomnia, offer aid in pain relief, as well as overall healing in the body, mind and spirit. During the Middle Ages, amethyst was even used to symbolize royalty and can even be dated back well beyond the years of BC.
