What saved my life: Rewriting my story

I have always been an empath. For those of who don’t know what an empath is, “The term  empath  comes from empathy, which is the ability to understand the experiences and feelings of others outside of your own perspective. ... You actually sense and feel emotions as if they're part of your own experience. In other words, someone else's pain and happiness become your pain and happiness.” So, with that being said I always picked up other people’s energy, without even knowing that I did! I was painfully shy and didn’t like being around strangers and often looked at people with skepticism and big doe deer eyes. Most children have a sense similar to dogs, and are generally excellent on picking up the true intentions of other people.   So with being an empath, I often felt out of place or overwhelmed with emotions, so I was easily prone to depression and anxiety. Let's get real, let's get candid, let's get raw. Let's talk about Mental Health.   Mental health has become a more common topic of discussion and it affects each and everyone of us. In many cultures and societies, it was such a hush-hush topic or even taboo to speak about. Growing up we kept our problems to ourselves and dealt with our feelings on our own, or only with our immediate family. Now mind you, there is nothing wrong with that, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking advice or someone to talk to!   There are so many things that can lead you down a rabbit hole of depression, anxiety, anger, etc. but there is also a plethora of helpful things that can help pull you out of despair and back into a world where you feel loved and embraced, but it all starts with YOU!   It's okay to not feel okay all the time!
