Magical May

May’s magical birthstone is the Emerald. This vivid green gemstone is considered one of the rarest in the world. Found primarily in Colombia, which is the largest producers in Emeralds, it is also found in Brazil, and Zambia. Although they are mostly found in these three countries, Emeralds are mined throughout the world, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Australia, United States, Africa, Canada, Spain, Norway, Italy, India and Germany. Since they are so scarcely found in these areas, mining for them can be quite difficult, which is why they have been known to be so rare.
Emeralds symbolize rebirth, love, patience, loyalty, inspiration, compassion, unity and luck. It has been known to be the "stone of successful love" and its vibrant green color makes it perfect for balancing and healing the heart chakra.

Emeralds are not only rare but are considered magical as well. It's great for manifestation and connection to spirit. Dating back to first century Egypt, Hermes, the creator of the Emerald Tablet, carved the words "As Above, So Below", meaning on Earth as it is in Heaven. The Emerald Tablet was used to interpret the connection, unity and balance between Heaven, the Universe, the Earth, the mind and spirit. It is the harmony between the physical and spiritual realm.
