The older we get, the harder it is to stay active. We are still alive and kicking, so why not make the best of it? Below are 10 activities to help keep you motivated and mobile, help to strengthen and tone your body, while helping to keep us young at heart.

Walking
Walking is an easy, low-impact activity perfect for all ages! It is a great way to get outdoors, move the body and get the blood flowing. It is an excellent cardio activity that allows you to set your own pace and distance you want to go that day.

Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a great alternative to regular yoga and is less challenging on the body. It is a great way to destress and improve posture while giving you the stretch you need. You can even do chair yoga from the comfort of your own home!

Pilates
Pilates is an excellent activity for strengthening and toning muscles as well as healing the body from past injuries and immobility. It helps to build endurance and increase overall flexibility. Pilates also helps to build up core strength and helps improve overall balance.

Swimming
Swimming is a great way to get blood flowing through the whole body. It is a safer substitute then most exercises, especially if you have injuries or have a hard time moving around. Swimming is low impact cardio exercise that is excellent for toning and strengthening the overall body.

Stationary Cycling
Stationary Cycling is a safer option than bicycling outdoors. You are able to set your own pace and you may stop whenever you get tired. Cycling is great for moving your legs and building muscle tone in the lower half of your body.

Golf
Golf is an excellent way to get out and move your body. Mixed with the walking from hole to hole and swinging the golf club, it is great for toning every area of your body. Plus it is also a fun way to get exercise!

Stretching
Stretching is an all-around great way help heal the body from discomfort and immobility. Another great option to chair yoga, full body stretching is a nice addition to any activity. It helps to get the blood flowing, reduce inflammation and move the stagnant energy in the body.

Dumbbells                                                                                         
Lifting a small weight of dumbbells is great at strengthening and building back muscle and toning the body. Make sure to go with an appropriate weight that is easy enough for you to lift, but still offers a challenge with more reps!

Bowling
Bowling is a fun way to get out and move your whole body. Bowling is fun to get your friends involved in the action too, after all, the more the merrier! It is primarily great for toning the arms while helping with balance and posture.

Resistance Bands                                                                                   
By using a resistance band, you are able to strengthen, stretch and tone your whole body, at your own level, in the comfort of your very own home. Resistance bands are safe to use, without the risk of hurting yourself on any heavy machinery.

Whether you like to do group activities or to exercise in the comfort of your own home, there are options for everyone!
